Barrier Requirements
Moisture control in bakery packaging works bidirectionally: it must prevent external moisture ingress while delivering anti-fog properties to prevent internal condensation.
**Dry products (crackers, biscuits, cookies):** WVTR ≤1 g/m²/day, OTR ≤10 cc/m²/day. Moisture ingress softens the product and shortens shelf life.
**Freshly baked goods (bread, rolls, pastry):** Anti-fog coated inner surface; OTR kept high (to allow breathing), but moisture condensation is prevented. PP or PET-based structures are preferred.

Is anti-fog coating mandatory for fresh bread packaging?
Not mandatory, but strongly recommended. Without anti-fog coating, condensation reduces product visibility and negatively impacts consumer experience. MyPlast offers anti-fog PE inner lining as an option on kraft bags.
What sizes are recommended for biscuit/cookie packaging?
