About This Packaging

Detergent packaging creates a unique need for chemical resistance and mechanical durability in flexible packaging. Powder detergent, liquid detergent, capsules/soap bars and specialty cleaning formulations require packaging films that remain stable in contact with surfactants, alkaline substances and enzymes. Inadequate barrier or weak seals lead to packaging failure and consumer loss. MyPlast detergent packaging offers a balanced design across chemical stability, mechanical resistance and retail positioning.

Another key challenge in the detergent category is child safety and accurate product labelling. EU Regulation (CLP) and ISO 8317 (Child Resistance Testing) requirements mandate compliant packaging seals, closure systems and printed languages. MyPlast supplies detergent packaging compliant with European, Turkish and GCC market requirements.

Barrier Requirements

Chemical resistance: Sodium carbonates, bicarbonates, perborates and enzymes in powder detergents can degrade standard PE films over time. MyPlast detergent packaging uses high-molecular-weight LDPE/HDPE blend or OPP/PE laminate; these structures remain stable in pH 8-12 alkaline environments for 24+ months. For liquid detergents, PET/PE barrier with extra-strength inner layer is preferred.

Mechanical resistance: Detergent packaging experiences dynamic pressure during filling and crush forces during transit. For side-gusset 1-5 kg constructions, film thickness 100-150 microns and seal width 12-15 mm are mandatory. Drop testing is conducted from 1.2 m, 5 times with full product.

Anti-static treatment: Powder detergents can build electrostatic charge causing filling-line issues and film-surface adhesion. MyPlast solves this with anti-static agents added to the inner PE layer.

Material Options

  • 1High-strength OPP/PE or PET/PE laminate — standard structure for powder detergents. Balanced chemical stability, mechanical resistance and print quality. Used for 1-5 kg retail formats.
  • 2Multi-layer PET/Aluminium/PE — for premium powder detergents and export products requiring long shelf life. Full moisture and oxygen barrier; enzyme activity and odour integrity are preserved.
  • 3High-strength LDPE/HDPE blend — for large-format bulk packaging (5-25 kg). Preferred for industrial detergents, laundry sector products and wholesale packaging.
  • 4Co-extruded PE barrier film — for liquid detergent refill packaging. With oil- and water-repellent coating, sealability and mechanical resistance are achieved together.

Packaging Format Options

Side-gusset bag (1-5 kg retail): The most common detergent packaging format. Stand-up structure improves shelf visibility. Typical sizes 1 kg, 1.5 kg, 2 kg, 3 kg, 5 kg. Side-gusset width 80-120 mm, reinforced bottom seal as standard.

Doypack (1-3 kg premium): Stand-up doypack for premium detergent brands and laundry detergents. Optional carrying handle and pouring spout. Reclosable zipper or slider improves consumer retention.

Large-format sack (10-25 kg): For industrial and bulk use. Side-gusset or flat-sack construction. For wholesale channels, laundry sector and B2B use. Reinforced top closure required for handling.

Liquid detergent pouch (refill 500ml-2L): Spout-cap doypack for refill concept. PE/Aluminium/PE structure provides liquid drop resistance. A growing segment as a single-use plastic bottle alternative.

Certification & Food Safety

MyPlast packaging is produced under BRCGS AA Global Standard and ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System. All food-contact materials are migration-tested for compliance with EU Regulation 10/2011. These certifications ensure your products meet market entry requirements for the EU, GCC and Turkish markets.

MOQ & Ordering Process

Stock MOQ is 1,000 pieces with a 3–5 business day lead time. For custom-print orders, MOQ is 5,000 pieces with 10–15 business day lead time. For VFFS/flowpack reel supply, minimum 200 kg per reel specification applies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which structure is best for powder detergent packaging?

For standard 1-5 kg retail powder detergents, high-strength OPP/PE or PET/PE laminate is best. It balances chemical stability, print quality and cost optimisation. For premium products or export requiring 18+ month shelf life, three-layer PET/Aluminium/PE is recommended.

Do detergent packagings meet child safety requirements?

Yes. MyPlast offers child-resistant (CR) zipper options on detergent doypacks; this option has passed ISO 8317 testing and meets EU CLP Regulation requirements. All printed languages are compliant with EU Regulation EC 648/2004 (Detergent Regulation). Hazard symbols and warning statements are printed to EU CLP standards.

Do you design liquid detergent refill packaging?

Yes. The liquid detergent refill category is a fast-growing segment for MyPlast. We produce 500 ml, 1 L and 2 L refill doypacks with spout closures, ergonomic grip design and leak-proof inner layer. Compared to a standard detergent bottle, 75% less plastic is used — a strong sustainability positioning argument.

What is your capacity for industrial detergent packaging?

MyPlast offers monthly capacity of 50,000+ pieces for 10-25 kg industrial detergent sacks. Side-gusset or flat-sack construction with 100-150 micron film thickness. Uncoloured or single-colour print is standard for industrial use; full digital print is optional. For B2B contract manufacturing, 12-month planning and monthly batch delivery are offered.
